According to an article in About.com here are 8 (out of 10) things about the Titanic that are unknown. First, there was a scheduled emergency drill on the day of the tragedy which was canceled for an unknown reason. Second, after the look outs saw the icebergs and raised the alarm, the crew has 37 seconds to react and steer the Titanic away from the iceberg. Third, there was a newspaper on board which printed daily. Fourth, the lifeboats were not used to their full capacity. For example, one only carried 12 passengers when it could have had 40.
Fifth, there were only 2 bathtubs for over 700 passengers in the third class. Sixth, there was another boat close to the Titanic at that time of the mishap. It was the Californian that was 19 miles north of the ship. Seventh, 2 dogs were rescued via lifeboat, they were a pomeranian and pekinese. Eighth, there were only 3 functioning funnels out of 4. The other was just for aesthetic purposes.
